School Community

Holy Saviour is a wonderfully vibrant community with activities and Parish Groups. Many of the children are involved in extra curricula activities outside of school hours with other families. The success of these groups is due to the commitment of the families who keep them alive.

Achievements in 2017
Parish Community Building:
Each year the Parish Education Board is actively involved in working to build the Parish community. One great example of this is the organisation of refreshments at the beginning of year Commissioning mass. PEB members help to welcome in new members to the school and Parish community.

Working Bees:
Another three successful working bees were held during 2017. Members of the PEB have attended each working bee and assisted in organizing the tasks. These working bees help to maintain an aesthetic environment for the children as families as well as help us to maintain safety standards required of our large property.

Policies and School Information:
Each year the Principal and Deputy Principal present updated or new policies and information about the running of the school. We greatly appreciate the input given by parents and engage in improvement based on recommendations made.

Marketing Holy Saviour to the wider community:
The PEB supports the school in its promotion to the community. Advertising materials are displayed and feedback sought through this forum. Members also assist in its distribution. Members actively engage with community members to highlight achievements and promote the school.

Community representation:
Each year the PEB attempts to ensure representation from the wider community, eg One of our members is the Holy Saviour representative on the Emmaus College Board.

Food Days!
The PEB organises a number of food days throughout the school year to provide something different for the children and aid in fundraising for the school. Hot dogs, sausages, pies and sausage rolls have all been a hit in 2017!

Community forum
Each year the Parish Education Board organises an adult education forum based on the needs of the community.

Cultural Analysis
In 2015 Holy Saviour School undertook a cultural analysis which provided a closer look at positive behaviours in our workplace and what this means for us as an organisation. The study was conducted by Rachel Colla (Psychologist) and you can read the findings in the report HERE.
